Advancing Language Technology at SYSTRAN by ChapsVision

SYSTRAN by ChapsVision is a pioneer in AI-powered Natural Language Processing, delivering translation and language intelligence solutions to governments, defense agencies, and global enterprises. As a Full-Stack Software Engineer (January – April 2025), I joined a cross-functional international team building and improving the web applications powering this NLP platform.

Front-End Development & UX Improvements

Using TypeScript and Next.js, I contributed to the development of user-facing features on the translation platform, focusing on interface clarity, responsiveness, and workflow efficiency. I collaborated closely with product and design to translate requirements into polished UI components, ensuring consistency across the application.

Legacy Modernization Proposals

I conducted a technical audit of parts of the existing codebase and proposed concrete modernization strategies to improve scalability and long-term maintainability. These proposals covered component architecture refactoring, state management improvements, and migration paths to reduce technical debt — positioning the team for faster iteration cycles.

Agile Collaboration in a Multicultural Environment

Working within an international team, I actively participated in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and code reviews. This experience reinforced my ability to communicate technical decisions clearly in a multicultural context and to align engineering priorities with business objectives.

Impact

Beyond the technical contributions, this mission deepened my expertise in NLP-adjacent web development and reinforced my professional English communication in a high-stakes, international product environment — a valuable foundation for the AI-focused work I took on subsequently at Ippon Technologies.
